Westminster Residency in Church Vocation

Applications for Mission Residency are being accepted for the 2024-2025 program. The Music Residency for 2024-2025 has been filled.

Westminster Presbyterian Church is excited to offer an eleven-month opportunity beginning in September for a recent college graduate exploring a possible call to professional church service. This program has two distinctive tracks for potential candidates to apply for: Music or Mission.  The resident will be encouraged to pick a focused ministry area in addition to active participation in the current ministries of Westminster.

The resident will receive housing, a salary; a health benefits package, and reimbursement for ministry expenses.

The Mission Residency

About you, the ideal team member:

  • You want to be part of a church that makes a difference in the community and the world. We love our neighbors, and we make it a habit to be involved in a positive way.

  • You are looking for a congregation that values education and critical thinking.

  • You will find a wide diversity of theological and political beliefs at Westminster. We really like it that way.

  • You want to work for a church that is open and inclusive.  We believe Christ loves everyone, everywhere, just as they are. As followers of Christ, we try to emulate that.

  • You are energized by working with people of all ages and all walks of life. Anyone who wishes to learn, to grow, and to serve can find a place here.

  • You’re reliable, ready to learn, and you have a spirit of service that calls you to this position.

What kinds of programs will the Mission Resident help with?

Jesus commands us to love our neighbors, and at Westminster we seek to do that by supporting local and global ministries.  Examples of our ministries include:

Helping the underserved in our community obtain the identification they need to rebuild their lives.

Supporting local inner city schools by helping students and staff overcome small obstacles that have a huge impact on education.

Sharing the love of Christ with our sister church in Barranquilla, Colombia through our partnership with Primera Iglesia.
